Hiya!
Well, hello to all of you!
Needless to say, its been another
lovely week down here in the lovely South! It has been quite eventful...and
long...and weird...so, what's new?!
It started off with THE 4th OF JULY!! So, that
was awesome! We spent the day in Malmö with a lot of American missionary pride...and a Canadian and an Aussie mixed in there, too!
Then we went to my favorite little beach town Åhus, where we
came across this major BEACH SOCCER TOURNAMENT!!! I was going crazy, and I just
wanted to play so bad! I don't know if I have ever wanted to play as bad in my
life--and let's just say my love of soccer has grown exponentially since being
out here!
Next day, we dropped our good friend Äldste Peterson
off at the train station to begin his long journey home, and we got in a new Äldste.
Later that day, we got a call from the mail people, and they
said that they were going to bring us a package!!! We were so excited! We were
like, "Yes, our Book of Mormons!!!" We have been out of them for so long because
we are so isolated down here, and the orders have been really delayed.
So, were
at home and there is a knock at the door--all excited, we go and get the
package. Small. I think, "MAN! What is this supposed to be?" I open it
up, and it's just 2 Book of Mormons--or Mormons Bok. Now, don't get me wrong--I was
grateful to see those two Books, but on top of those was the order sheet from 3 months
ago, which said: 20 Mormons Bok--8 English, 15 Arabic, 9 Persian...and some
Turkish and Greek--and many others!
But no! Only 2! We have no clue how
they got separated from the rest of the pack, but we just need more of those
precious Books!
Well, anyways...the next day, our Branch President invited
us to a carnival/market/fair type of thing--it was super fun! We went over
and it was just this HUGE marketplace type of thing that just went on for
forever!
We walked around, and all along people were just like, "Who
are you?", looking at our name tags--and we would explain to them about being missionaries--and then just went from there! Later, for dinner they made
us paninis, waffles and cinnamon rolls! Haha! A well-rounded, homemade and
delicious meal! :)
Well, as it turned out that night, we realized we had left our
phone at their house, so the next day we had to head back out there and pick it up--and when we got there they fed us again--but this time, it was some classic
Swedish food: plain noodles with ketchup and korv (hot dogs)! Haha! Honestly
though, that is pretty normal here!
Well, that's about it for this week--other than that I have
also been reading notes from prior Conferences, and I just came across my notes
from Sisters Conference!
The theme was; "Oh, the Places You'll Go!" One of my
favorites! I just thought I would just share a couple of the main lines
with you--I think I have before, but I just love them so much, so that will
just have to be okay!
Why fit in when you were born to STAND out?
Stay by the tree and STAND tall!
If you
don't STAND for anything you'll fall for anything!
And lastly,
"You're off to great places. Today is your day! Your
mountain is waiting, so...Get on you way!"
I absolutely love these! Who knew Dr. Seuss and President
Hinckley went so well together?!
No matter where we are, as members of this Church--the True
Church--we were meant to STAND OUT. To hold tight to our standards, and always
stand on higher ground. Let the Atonement work inside of you every single day
to give you the motivation to keep going forward and to give the Lord your all.
So get on your way!
With all my love in the Lovely Land of Skåne,
Syster Campbell
